Obituary for Vernezia Jones
Vernezia W. Jones 91 of Eatonton passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was born in Eatonton on April 22, 1922 to the late James Fletcher Welch and the late Inez Moon Welch. Vernezia was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Women’s Service League, United Methodist Women’s Organization and the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed cooking and loved flowers of every kind. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband W.T. Jones Jr., brother Leon Welch, and 2 sisters Jewell W. Alford and Priscilla W. Farmer. The visitation will be on Sunday, March 9th at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel From 1 PM to 2:45 PM. Services will be at First United Methodist Church (Historical Sanctuary) at 3 PM. Vernezia is survived by her Daughter Patsy Clifton & husband Wayne, Son Grady Jones, Grandchildren; Dusty Hawkins & wife Lisa, Dana McMichael & husband Howard Jr., and Lindsay Clifton, Great Grandchildren; John Dustin Hawkins Jr., Dawson Hawkins, Kenlan McMichael, Case McMichael. She is also survived by her sisters Grace Bishop and Alice Pittman. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to First United Methodist Church or to Serenity Hospice.
