Obituary for James Russell Meeks Jr.
James R. Meeks Jr. 62, of Milledgeville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. James was born on June 21, 1953 to the late James R. Meeks Sr. and Willene Meeks Batty. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine Thomas and brother Joseph Batty. James served in the United States Marine Corp during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the Putnam County School Board, he worked at Hallman’s Wood Products and worked very hard at everything he did. James especially enjoyed helping others and was always available to anyone who needed his help. A Memorial Service will be held on July 1, 2015 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 10 AM. James is survived by his wife Patricia Griffin Meeks, daughter Crystal Mason & husband Freddie, grandchildren Keyairah, Adrian, Chris, Kaden & Kaleah Mason, all of Milledgeville, brothers Louis, Douglas & Robert Batty, sister Anita Martin all of Eatonton and many friends who will miss him.
