Obituary for Grady Thomas Jones
Grady Thomas Jones, 70, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 21. He was a lifelong Putnam County resident, having been born in Eatonton on September 22, 1951. He was the son of the late Walter Thomas Jones, Jr. and Vernezia Welch Jones. Grady enjoyed talking in code and telling jokes and riddles. He loved his grandchildren dearly and they brought him a lot of joy. He was part owner of the J-Way grocery store, which he ran with his dad. He was a member of the National Guard. Grady was a humorous man, happy and joking with everyone he met. Grady was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Vernezia. He was survived by his daughter Dana Jones McMichael, sister Patsy Jones Clifton (Wayne), grandchildren Kenlan Reann McMichael and Case Howard McMichael, nephew Dusty Hawkins (Lisa), niece Lindsay Clifton and great nephews John Dustin Hawkins (Alexis) and Dawson Hawkins. Visitation will be held at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 2:30pm on Monday, December 27, 2021, with the service following at 3:00pm in the chapel. Burial will follow in Eatonton Memorial Park.
