Obituary for Quenton Pittman
.Quenton Lamar Pittman 89, of Eatonton, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was born in Maysville, Ga., on December 18, 1927 to the late Moses D. Pittman and Ruby Lee Smith Pittman. Q.L., as he was known, served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church, Methodist Men and Robinson Dance Sunday School Class. He retired from the United States Postal Service with 60 years with the National Association of Letter Carriers, and had been influential in starting the Postal Union of Atlanta, where he served as their president for 17 yrs. Mr. Pittman was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was scheduled to receive his 60 yr. pin. He was preceded in death by his wife Lora Patterson Pittman. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 5-7pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. The service will be on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 1 pm. at The First United Methodist Church in the Great Hall. The burial will follow at
3 pm at Lawnwood Memorial Gardens, in Covington, Ga. He is survived by his son Phil Pittman (Debbie) of Eatonton, granddaughters Victoria Lora Pittman and Ryann Alexandria Pittman, sister Mozelle Green, niece Norman Green. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Junior Youth Fellowship at First United Methodist Church of Eatonton.
