Obituary for Jacquelyn Winslette
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Winslette, 74, of Eatonton, passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 22nd, 2014. Jackie was born in Eatonton on March 16, 1940 to the late Joseph Parham and Phyllis Anderson. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and cooking. A lifelong resident of Putnam County, Miss Jackie was the cashier at Farmers and Merchants Bank until her retirement in 2009, after twenty-five years of faithful service. Jackie fought for many years with the grace, dignity and faith that God blessed her with each and every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmy Winslette, granddaughter Lauren Chambers, grandson Rusty Crumbley and brother Russell Newsome.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 24th at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 5pm to 7pm. The service will be at Crossroads Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 25th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Eatonton Memorial Park.
Jackie is survived by her son Greg Winslette (Lynda) of Gray, daughter Kerry Chambers (Mike) of Statesboro, brothers Leon Parham (Jeannie) of Eatonton, Kenneth Parham (Alicia) of Eatonton, Keith Newsome (Beth) of Jewel, Mike Parham (Lee) of Tiger, step mother Polly Parham of Eatonton, stepfather Vernon Newsome of Jewel, grandchildren Ryan Chambers (Jodie), Callie Daniel (Chris), Eric Winslette, Kyle Chambers (Lauren). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. The family has requested memorial donations be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund or to Georgia Cancer Support, P.O. Box 1938, Milledgeville, Ga. 31059.
