Obituary for William Larry Knight
William Larry Knight, son of William P. and Carolyn Parkerson Knight, born January 8, 1947, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 7 to 8:30 PM. The service will be on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 11 PM. He leaves behind, for a short while, his devoted , loving wife of 48 years, Diane, three wonderful, caring sons, Bruce, Bobby, and Casey, Two amazingly wonderful daughters, April and Tiffany, four grandsons, Bo, Justin, Jarod and Jacob, who were the “apple of his eye”, a brother, Butch Knight (Nancy), two sisters, Shirley (Johnny Brock), and Carol ( Roger Parham). He also left behind a wonderful sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Bob Rusk, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many friends that he cherished. He worked for the Georgia Power Company for 44 years, dedicated and loyal to those that trusted him to do his job, and he did it well. He was known affectionately, as the “Blue Bell” man, and “John Brown” to those that worked with him, nicknames that he treasured. He loved hunting and fishing, raising cattle, and working in the hay fields with his sons and grandsons, and riding on a John Deere tractor. He was a member and deacon of harvest Baptist Church in Eatonton for many years. Those of Harvest were his sisters and brothers in Christ, and he loved them dearly, and deeply.
