William "IKE" Bledsoe 70 of Eatonton passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, January 28, 2015; he was known as Ike by all that knew him. Ike was born in Washington , Georgia on April 26, 1944 to the late William Isaac Bledsoe Sr. and Carolyn Annette Kaney Bledsoe. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan having season tickets since 1972. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served 2 tours in Vietnam. Ike and Diane have rescued and fostered many animals over the years. They were advocates and an official foster home family with the Oconee Regional Humane Society. Ike will have a joyous reunion at the Rainbow bridge with his furbabies that have preceded him.
The visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the Historic Sanctuary at 2 PM.
Ike is survived by his wife Diane Bledsoe, sisters Becky Hughes (Ken) of Boneville, Ga., Martha Jane Hemphill (Barry) of Thomson, Ga., Liz Walden (Tom) of Hoschton, Ga., Ann McTier (Tony) of Thomson, Ga., brother John Bledsoe (June) of Douglasville, Ga., and was much loved by four nieces, one nephew, and five great nieces, of Georgia; and one nephew and one great niece in England.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to the Oconee Regional Humane Society.
