Obituary for Theda Loudermilk
Theda Loudermilk age 90, passed into eternity with Jesus Christ on Friday, March 9, 2018. Theda was one of four daughters born to the late Thaddeus and Pauline McCrackin Burrell. She and her sisters were raised in Tallulah Falls, Georgia. She is a graduate of North Georgia College. After moving around the state for many years, the family settled in Eatonton in 1963. Shortly thereafter, she became a member of First Baptist Church. Her professional career included positions at JC Penny and Putnam General Hospital. After working many years for Georgia Power Company at the local offices in Central Region, she chose to retire in 1989 when her husband retired. Together they began new volunteer careers as Park Host and Hostess at Georgia State Parks. Theda enjoyed all facets of the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, gardening, canning vegetables and camping. When not outdoors, she could be found in her room in front of the sewing machine. She was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed monthly fellowship with the Georgia Power Ambassador Club whenever possible. Preceded her in death are Garrison, husband of 65 years and Benjamin, a son. Survivors include her two daughters, Elaine Hicks (Eatonton) and Regina (Arthur) Linch (Eatonton) 6 grand children, 6 great grand children and 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, her faithful caregiver Jaynie Meadows and a special friend, James Lamb. The visitation will be on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Eatonton from 2 to 3 PM, followed by a celebration of her life at 3 PM.
