Obituary for Terry Norman Stevens
Terry Norman Stevens, 63 died on Thursday, August 12th, from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident. Terry was born Dec.16th, 1951 in Montgomery, Alabama, however spent most of his life in Putnam County. He was a graduate of Putnam County High School and after graduation went on to serve his country in the Army during the Vietnam era. After his service he completed his education at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia with a BBA in accounting. However, an office environment was just not for Terry. His love for the outdoors pulled him in another direction. He made a career of being an equipment operator until recently retiring. He is survived by his step-father Leon Schell who is the best father anyone could ever have. He is also survived by his son Vance Clifton Stevens, daughter-in-law Sami Long Stevens and three wonderful grandchildren Dylin Stevens, Sydnie Stevens and Vincent Stevens. His brother Victor Carson Stevens, sister-in-law Kay Leverette Stevens and sister Shannon Stevens Anderson, brother-in-law Paul Anderson. Other survivors include Marion Andrews a friend and companion. He is preceded in death by his mother Gertrude Hightower Schell and Cecil Carson Stevens. Visitation for Terry will take place on Saturday, August 15th at Vining Ivy Hill Funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 am Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
