Obituary for Samuel Emmett Herring
Samuel Emmett Herring, 67, passed away on November 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Putnam County to the late Emmett Posey Herring, Jr. and Ada Elizabeth Gritman Herring. He had worked as a self employed Carpenter, but was also skilled at repairing small engines. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and had served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era. The visitation will be on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6-8pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. The service will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel, and burial will follow in the Herring Family Cemetery. His is survived by his loving wife, Donna Herring, his daughter Donna(Dot)Herring Kinnison, his son Dakota Junior Emmett Herring, stepchildren Gene(Nikki)Mason, Chris(Dixie)Mason, Dan(Casey) Adair, Amanda(Micah) McElroy, Rhonda(Wayne) Gibbs and Jessica(Kyle)Martinez-Vicente. He also has a brother William Herring, two sisters Gwendolyn Barnes and Betty Joyce(Larry) Powell, he was close to his nephew Ricky Barnes and his niece Betty Ann Barnes. He was preceded in death by his son Samuel Gene Herring and his brothers Andy and Michael Herring.
