Russell Dale Scheller, 69, of Eatonton, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1956, to the late Carl Arthur Scheller and Minnie Lee Jones Scheller.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 30 years, Linda Joyce Stafford Scheller; his brothers, Cyril Arthur Scheller, Joe Carl Scheller, and Roger Darrell Scheller; and his sisters, Amelia Lou Scheller and Barbara Kay Christiansen.
He is survived by his devoted partner, Shonna Sledge of Eatonton, GA; his sons, Phillip Scheller of Eatonton, GA, Shawn Scheller (Brittney) of Eatonton, GA, Ryan Scheller of Eatonton, GA and Joshua Scheller of Nashville, TN; and his daughters, Jennifer Juliana of Spring, TX, and Brandi McLeroy (David) of Eatonton, GA.
Russell was a proud grandfather to Ashley Fal, Shelby Juliana, Natalie Juliana, Harley Scheller, Ryleigh Scheller, Kinsley Scheller, Shelby McLeroy, Abbygail McLeroy, and David McLeroy Jr., and a great-grandfather to Lily Fal and Renlee Fal. He is also survived by his baby sister, Valerie Jean Martin.
Russell's honorable service in the United States Army, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, was a reflection of the pride and dedication he carried into every aspect of his life. He was a member of the First Independent Methodist Church of Eatonton. Russell was a man of quiet strength and profound kindness. He had a heart of gold and was truly a gentle giant who always gave the best hugs. He found joy in caring for his yard and had a deep love and strong passion for landscaping. He spent many peaceful hours outdoors, tending to his home with pride and dedication. Russell will be remembered for his generous spirit, his warm heart, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
