Mr, Ronald “Ron” Dwight Kauffman, age 61, passed away on Monday, May15, 2023 at his home in Eatonton. Memorial Services will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Prior to the service, the family will greet friends and family at 1:00 PM until service time.
Ron was born on October 22, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ronald Dwight Kauffman, Sr and Carol Harms Kauffman. He grew up in Garden City and came to Eatonton from Tulsa, Oklahoma after graduation from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education. He also held degrees in music education and business management and a certificate in photography. While living in Tulsa he served as Choir Director and worked with the youth ministry program at Heatherridge Baptist Church. After coming to Eatonton in 1999, he began work as a teacher and music director for Gatewood School. While working at Gatewood, he also served as choir director for Victory Baptist Church in Milledgeville before moving to Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton. Along with directing music, Ron was a talented singer and musician, often playing trumpet at community functions or participating with other musicians at various functions.
Ron loved his family, his church, his school, his students and the choirs he worked with. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved following and participating with his boys and their friends through their years in school and recreational sports. He was also a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He was a Christian and an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Donna Ridley Kauffman and two sons, Christopher and Cody, of Eatonton; his parents, Pastor Ronald and Carol Kauffman of Russellville, AR; brother Ken Kauffman (Connie) of Murfreesboro, TN; brother Kevin Kauffman (Linette) of Denver, CO; sister Sheryl Kauffman Garza (David) of Russellville, AR; mother-in-law Glenda Ridley of Eatonton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, the Music Department of Gatewood School, or the charity of your choice.
