Obituary for Richard Walter Zeller
Dr. Rick Zeller of Eatonton passed away on Thursday April 7, 2022, at his residence. Rev. Zeller was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1943, to the late George and Carrie Zeller. Rev. Zeller enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961 serving on active duty, then served in the United States Army Reserves for 14 years. Rev. Zeller was the Pastor of the Eatonton Pentecostal Holiness Church from 2001 until his retirement in 2017. A graduate of Seattle Bible College and Trinity College in Clearwater, Florida. He touched many lives, serving first as the Director at Teen Challenge Girls Home in Seattle Washington, pastoring in Renton Washington, Red Oak Iowa and Monroe Georgia. In addition to pastoring Rev. Zeller served the public and the communities on his journey, working in Public Safety for Clearwater Police Department, Florida, Winder Police Department, Winder Georgia, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, Athens, Georgia and Chaplin for Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, before his retirement. Rev. Zeller served the Putnam County Community as Chairman of the Putnam Christian Outreach for 8 years and the Putnam County Board of Equalization for 8 years. Rev. Zeller loved to sing, play the guitar, hunt, and fish, teach and PREACH the WORD of GOD. He leaves behind the Love of his life of 58 years, Delores “Dee” Zeller, 2 loving sister in laws, 5 nieces and nephews. A special Brother in Christ and fellow Reverend Dr. Cecil C. Carpenter, and a host of church family and friends. Services will be conducted Tuesday April 12th, 2022 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel with visitation from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, with services starting at 1:00pm. Burial will be private on Wednesday April 13th, 2022 at the Georgia War Veteran’s Cemetery, in Milledgeville. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Gardner, Rev. Jeff Thomas and Rev. Matt Brown. Serving as Pallbearers, Jack Lee, Curtis Screws, Tyler Screws, Brenden Parham, James Parham, Alan Brown and Arthur Beasley.
