Obituary for Randall Jerome Thomas
Randall Jerome Thomas, 80, of Eatonton passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015. He was born on November 7, 1935 in Gainesville, Ga. to the late Eldridge Milton (Fat) Thomas and the late Bertie Lee Whitfield Thomas. Randall came to Putnam County in January of 1948 and attended schools here. He graduated from High School in 1955 and worked at Imperial Mill as a dolpher until July 1956. In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 20 years in Texas, South Carolina, the Phillipines, Wyoming, Thailand, Laos, Georgia and Labrador, Oklahoma and retired at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey in August 1976. During this time he was married to Martha Sue Thomas and they had one son Byron Jerome Thomas. After he retired he spent one year building his house in Putnam County, he married Louie Elizabeth Stewart Thomas and they had one son Stewart Lee Thomas. Randall worked for Georgia Power for 16 years and retired from there in 1994. The Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 5 pm to 7 pm, the service will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Ga. at 2:30 pm on Thursday December 3, 2015. He is survived by his sons Byron Thomas & wife Lynn, Stewart Thomas & wife Kimberly, sister Maxine Mason, nephews Nathan, Mike, Randy Mason and families, grandchildren Kayla McCarthy (Jonathan), Robert Thomas, Alex Smith, James Smith.
