Obituary for Preston Higgins
Preston Higgins, 74, of Eatonton, Ga. departed this world to be reunited with his parents James F. Higgins and Emma Lula Martin Higgins and siblings Buddy Higgins, Marthalene, H. Garner, Royce Higgins, Betty H. Farmer, Billy Higgins, Donald Higgins, Bobby Higgins, Brenda Sue Higgins and Melvin Higgins. Preston has one surviving sister Peggy H. York of Baldwin, Ga. and one surviving brother Johnny Higgins of N.C. The visitation will be on Saturday, November 21, at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM. Preston resided in Eatonton with his wife Glenda Alliston Higgins of 48 years. He retired from Georgia Power Plant Branch as a Coal Equipment Operator. Preston and Glenda have two children surviving him, Robert “Robby” Preston Higgins and Rachel H. Spear and son-in-law Shawn Spear. Preston loved family gatherings, lawn work, traveling and was a big Nascar fan. He enjoyed wood working and made many projects that he shared with family and friends. Preston loved all his family and in-laws. He was blessed to have such a wonderful and caring family along with many good friends. Surviving him is many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, great-great and great-great-great nephews and nieces and cousins. Preston will be sadly missed by all his family and friends but remembered as the loving husband, dad, brother, uncle and friend. He was wonderful man to know loving and friendly to all.
