Obituary for Ozelle Williams
Ozelle Jones Williams was a beloved grandmother, mother, & wife during her incredible 98 years of life. She passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her home. Ozelle had a long, full life. She was born on April 5, 1923 in Skipwith, Virginia to loving parents, Eddie & Ollie Jones. In 1941, she met the love of her life, Lamar Williams, and they married a short time later. They had one daughter, Beverly, in 1945. They ran a dairy farm here in Eatonton until their retirement in 1974. After their retirement, Ozelle & Lamar spent their time camping all over the United States with friends & spending time with the loves of their lives, their three granddaughters, two great granddaughters, & eventually two great- great granddaughters. Ozelle loved to work in her garden & in her flower beds. She loved “digging around” outside & cooking for her family. She made the best biscuits you’ve ever tasted & her pancakes were amazing. She was one of the founding members of Lone Oak Baptist Church & her love of the Lord shone through her every day of her life. She was one of the most loving, caring people you would ever come across. If you knew her you can consider yourself lucky. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lamar Williams, her parents, & all of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter & faithful caretaker in her final days, Beverly Ralston, her granddaughters & their spouses: Shelby & Marion Collis, Robin & Jim McDonald, & Kim & Ted Sills, her great granddaughters & their spouses: Krystal & Ashley Evans, & Katie Collis, as well as her great- great granddaughters, Annie Smith & Adley Evans, & a bonus granddaughter/ caretaker, Gay Lankford. The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to Lone Oak Baptist Church in Ozelle’s memory. The graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 3 pm at the Lone Oak Baptist Church cemetery. The family will host a visitation from 2:30 until the funeral hour at the same location.
