Obituary for Melba Laura Ridley
Melba Laura Ridley, 83 of Eatonton, Ga. passed away on October 19, 2016. Melba was born on June 9, 1933 to the late Marvin Bowen and Ceres Thompson. She was a member of the Elks lodge and enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her friends and traveling in her motor home. In addition to her parents, Melba was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald J. Ridley. She is survived by her children Medina Crowe (Frank) and Jay Ridley (Christine) of Eatonton, Ga., her granddaughters, Jessica Bell (Gerald), Cayla Ridley, Courtney Ridley of Eatonton, Ga., and Kinsee Cheeley (Bayne) of Greensboro, Ga. She is also survived by her precious great grandchildren, Kaylee Bell, Lila Bell of Eatonton, Ga., Mary Scarlett Cheeley, and Charlie Cheeley of Greensboro, Ga., and by her sister Connie Kirby of Kathleen, Ga., and brother Barry Sanders (Gina) of Eatonton, Ga. The service will be held at Eatonton Memorial Park on October 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M the family would like to meet friends and family at Eatonton Memorial Park 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter 41 Perimeter Center East Suite 550 Atlanta, Georgia 30346. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel has charge of arrangements.
