Obituary for Marvin Hilton Wallace
Marvin Hilton Wallace 85, of Eatonton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 25th, 2021. Marvin was born on February 7th, 1935 in Eatonton to the late Thomas Hilton Wallace and Mamie Virginia Byars Wallace. He was a lifelong resident of Putnam County. Marvin married Eva Juanita Jeffers Wallace on November 28th, 1953; they were married 67 years. Marvin was a veteran of the United States National Guard, a volunteer fireman, a city councilman, and a longtime employee of Life of Georgia Insurance Company. He retired from his position as a winch truck operator at Georgia Power Company in 1997. He was a member of Marshall Memorial Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons. Marvin loved the Lord and he loved his family. He was a man that lived his life in service to his wife, his family, his church and his community. Marvin is survived by his wife, Juanita and his children Danny Wallace (Lucy) and David Wallace (Jannis), his grandchildren, Cindy Easter (James), Rebecca Price, Jessica Schnetzer (Matt), Ansley Wallace, and Weston Wallace. His great-grandchildren are Emma Price, Ella Price, Lucy Easter, Kris Easter, John Devin Schnetzer and Landon Schnetzer. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah and his grandson, Danny Jr. He was such a bright light in this world and will be missed by all family members and friends. A visitation will be held at Vining Ivy Hill on Friday, January 29th from 11:00 – 11:45 with a Memorial Service at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church at 12:00. With current world events in mind, masks will be required at both the visitation and the memorial service. Marshall Memorial’s social distancing guidelines permit 80 people in the sanctuary; however, the service will be available through Marshall Memorial’s Facebook Live page. Memorial donations may be made in Marvin’s name to Marshall Memorial Baptist Church, 190 Imperial Mill Road Eatonton, Georgia 31024.
