Obituary for Marilyn Hancock
Marilyn Marjorie Hancock Born February 21, 1935 Passed away November 9, 2011 Marilyn (Margie) Hancock departed her earthly home for heaven Wednesday afternoon, November 9th. She left peacefully from her home with her family at her bedside. She leaves behind her loving husband of more than 60 years, Charlie Clinton Hancock. Clinton was a loving and devoted husband who provided for and served his wonderful wife their entire life. He was her primary caregiver throughout her sickness and sacrificed unconditionally to meet her needs until her death. Margie is survived by three brothers, Austin (Bob) Goff, Mickey Goff, Bill Goff and one sister, Nellie Jimerson. She also leaves behind five children, Craig (Susan) Hancock, Les (Jennifer) Hancock, Donald (Darlene) Hancock, Marilyn (David) Sherlin and David (Stacey) Holt. She had 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Joanie, Vincent, Keith, Lindsey, Mandy, Jordan, Amy, Charlie, Tyler, Bruce, Aimee and Sarah. She also had 8 great grandchildren, Gregory, Thomas, Grayson, Bailey, Hollie, Mason, Lainey & Zoe.Margie was an awesome woman of God whose faith was unshakable and unquestionable. Some of her grandchildren describe her as “the sweetest woman they have ever known”; she was a friend to all and a woman who walked the walk every day of her life. Margie was born in Nokomis, FL and lived in Englewood, FL most of her life. She later moved to Decatur, TN and then to Eatonton, GA where she resided until her death. Pall bearers will be Keith Hancock, Jordan Mosingo, Firefighter/Paramedic Joey Maddox, Dewayne Taylor, Chief Warrant Officer Matthew Hancock and Sergeant Vincent Hancock.Visitation will be Friday, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church of Eatonton followed by services at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Eatonton Memorial Park. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel in Eatonton, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
