Obituary for Ludean Darley
Ludean (Dean) Register Darley passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014. She was born on May 9, 1926 in Bonifay, Florida to the late Marlin Armour Register and Melvina Holland Register. Dean and her husband, William Kenneth Darley, lived on Lake Sinclair in Putnam County from 1980 until 2009, when they moved to an assisted care facility in Stockbridge. Dean was active in her church, Crossroads Baptist Church, and was a member of Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband; her brothers Haven, Cull, Bud and Avery Register; her sisters O’Dell Jackson, Ethell Jackson, and Ann Byrd. She is survived by her daughters Sylvia Peacock (Ken) of Tallahassee, FL, and Daria Hargis (Bruce) of McDonough; grandchildren Lisa Daws (Bob) of Tallahassee, FL, Chris Jennings of Covington, Kara Phillippi (Eric) of Rock Cave, WV, Katie Anderson of Austin, TX, Tracy Stout of Ashland City, TN, Lee Ann Bohannon (Todd) of Austin, TX, and Wesley Hargis of GA; and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Joe Register (Shirley) of Wildwood, FL, Jack Register (Katheryn) of Eatonton, GA and her sister Artie Massey of Columbus, GA. Visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on Sunday, February 23rd from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 24th at Crossroads Baptist Church at 12:30 PM with Rev. John McMillian, Jr. officiating. Following the service, burial will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville at 2:30 PM with Rev. Kara Phillippi officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346. Dean and Kenneth celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, February 22nd together in Heaven. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
