Obituary for Lucile Harper Green
Lucile Bailey Harper Green 98, of Eatonton, passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born in Eatonton, Ga, to the late Jesse Marion and Myrtle Piper Bailey. She worked as a foreman at Enterprise Aluminum Co for 49 years. After her retirement she worked at Miss Bessie's Flower shop and Hallman Wood Products working with flowers. Her customers always loved that she shared her vibrant personality, knowledge of gardening and love of flowers with them. She was a charter member of VFW Post 6686 Ladies Auxiliary. She was president nine terms, secretary eight terms, guard two terms, Senior Vice President and Trustee. She was voted Georgia Ms. LA VFW Award in1988. She was also member of Phoenix Homemakers Club, and Central Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husbands William Clark Harper, Sr, and T.R. (Ted) Green her son William Clark Harper, Jr. and sisters Marian Carnes and Evelyn Langston. The visitation will be held on Monday August 20, 2018 from 5-7pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. The service will be on Tuesday, August 21,2018 at 11:00am also at Vining Ivy Chapel, with burial following at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Lucile is survived by her children George Ralph (Joyce) Harper, Jessie Raymond (Wanda) Harper, Sue (Cleven) Presley, and daughter-in-law, Julie Harper. Her grandchildren Christopher C. (Julie) Harper, John Harper, Burt Dodson, Lynn (Tony) Grant, Richard (Tiffany) Harper, Clark Harper, Clyde (Tracy) Harper and 15 great grandchildren and brother Bennie Bailey (Verneda).
