Obituary for Louie Eugene Griffith
Louie Griffith 79, of Eatonton, Ga., passed away on September 15, 2016 at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. Mr. Griffith was born in Eatonton to the late Marcus and Lorene Carnes Griffith. He served 4 yrs. in the Marines and retired from the Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer. He was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, and the Sportsman Club and loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jean Copelan Griffith. The visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016; from 6-8pm. The service will be on Sunday at 4 pm, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Mike Willard, Rev. Karon Compton and also Donna Waters. The burial will follow the service at Eatonton Memorial Park. He is survived by his daughters: Arlene (Tyrone) Alford of Buckhead, Leisa (Jim) Schanz of Colorado and Donna (Lex) Waters of Eatonton. He also has 2 sisters: Sandra (Bill) Bennet of Gray, Wendy Griffith of Athens, and a brother Robert Griffith of Arkansas. Mr. Griffith is also survived by his grandchildren: Sheryl Murphy, Tracy Stickley, Reuben Alford, Ivy Alford, Iris Schanz, Ryan Waters and 7 great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at 134 Greensboro Road Eatonton Ga, 31024 (home of Louie Griffith).
