Obituary for Larry Goss Jones Jr.
Larry Goss Jones, Jr. better known as “Pete” passed away February 12, 2014, at his home in Milledgeville Ga. Mr. Jones was the son of Lucille Welch Fisher and Larry G. Jones, Sr. who preceded him in death also preceded in death by his step father C.C. Fisher. Pete was a part of the Putnam-Jasper Support Services for 38 years. He was also a member of The First Independent Methodist Church. Pete liked fast cars and often envisioned himself as being the next Richard Petty. He also participated in the Georgia Special Olympics competing as a runner. The visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 2pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel, followed by a service at 3pm in the chapel. Honorary Pallbearers are Pete’s friends from Putnam Jasper Support Services. Rev. Ron Smith will officiate. Interment will be private. Mr. Jones is survived by his siblings: Jimmy (Lea) Jones, Lu (Taylor) Collis, Lisa (Ray) Hawk, Gwen (Jerry) Melton, Victoria Bruce and Helen (Linwood) Carnes and stepmother Elizabeth Jones, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to Putnam-Jasper Support Services: 149 Sara Lee Drive N.W. Eatonton Ga. 31024 Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
