Obituary for Juanita McDowell Jones
Juanita McDowell Jones 87 of Eatonton passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016. She was born to the late Samuel Thomas Dunaway and the late Elizabeth Owens Dunaway on July 25, 1928 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pearson Jones and daughter, Charis Adams Worley. She was very involved in her community after her retirement as a nurse from East Alabama Medical Center in Auburn, AL. She stayed active as a hospital volunteer, with the womens Auxiliary, the Emblem Club, her church, painting and many other activities. She had a smile for everyone and enjoyed many fun adventures spending time with her grandchildren. A Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home, 18034 Main Street North, Blounstown, Florida from 11 to 12 noon (Central Time) followed by a Memorial Service at 12 noon. Juanita is survived by her children Charles Thomas McDowell (Deborah), Blanche Thomas (Geren), all of Eatonton, Beverly McDowell of Ponce Inlet, FL and Sonya Capps of Bristol, FL, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Alzheimers’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, Seventh Floor, New York, New York 10001. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
