Obituary for John Stanford Davis
John Davis 73, of Eatonton, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Milledgeville, Ga. Mr. Davis was born in Roanoke, Alabama on December 26, 1942 to the late John Ray and Nesia Lorene Daniel Davis. After having served in the Army during Vietnam, he worked for Tri-County as a lineman and at Horton Trucking as a driver. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Winnie Jean Davis. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel beginning at 1pm, and the service will follow at 2pm. with Rev. Carol Davis officiating. The burial will be at Eatonton Memorial Park. He is survived by his children Lynn (Chris) Youngblood of Eatonton, Angie Davis of Greensboro and Sandy (Van) Dillard of Eatonton. Also survived by his grandchildren Ashley and Alex Youngblood, Dylan Powell, Alyssa Weekly, Christopher Hester, Landon Childers, Evan and Fisher Dillard and Rick Wooten. Memorial Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society 804 Cherry Street Macon, Ga. 31201-2058. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
