Obituary for John Hulsey Hallman
John Hulsey Hallman, known by many as “Foots”, passed away on May 5th, 2021 at his home in Eatonton, GA. His memory was honored on Saturday, May 8th at Eatonton Memorial Park. Johnny was born in Eatonton on October 13th, 1939. He was the youngest of ten children born to David and Fannie Hallman. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, and six sisters. After graduating from Putnam County High School in 1957, Johnny attended the Georgia Institute of Technology before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served honorably as an Admiral First Class from 1959 to 1963. On September 20th, 1962, Johnny married Jane Garner of Eastman, GA, whom he had known since his youth. Johnny and Jane enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. Johnny is survived by his wife Jane, his sister Marjorie Bowers, and his three children: John David Hallman (Lindsey), Joni Hayes (Pat), and Dennis Hallman. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Ellen Sadler (Breckon), Nathan Hallman, Emma Hayes, Evan Hallman, Peri Hayes, Callie Hallman, and J.P. Hayes. Johnny was known as a loyal friend to many. His life was full of hard work, good times, and making memories. He was well known for his quick wit, warm character, and kind heart. In the later years of his life, he spent countless weekends taking grandkids on camping trips or spending time at the family lake house. His final months were marked by a courageous battle against various ailments. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten, and his memory will be cherished by all.
