JoAnne VanCleve 71 of Eatonton passed away at her residence on Friday, February 20, 2015. She was born in Ohio to the late Bob and Edna Marcum Hornsby. JoAnne fished professionally and was featured in Georgia Sportsman, as well as, Georgia Outdoors. In 1979, she won the Missouri Bass Championship, and was a member of Bass and Gals national organization. JoAnne started the first bass organization for women called Lunker Lovers. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Her most cherished accomplishment was her 54 yr. marriage to Charles Van Cleave.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel at 1 PM.
JoAnne is survived by her husband Charles VanCleve, children Paul VanCleve & wife Vicky of Eatonton, Kimberly Dyer & husband Danny of Woodstock, Brenda Hammett of Hiram, grandchildren Christy VanCleve and Katie VanCleve, Brandy Bostwick, Carrie VanCleve, Clyde Hammett, James Easton, Joanna Cannon, brother Ted Hornsby & wife Kristin of OH, sisters Linda Rogers & husband Donnie of KY, Rosie Seabald & husband Jim of OH, Cathy Bloom of OH.
