James M. “Jimmy” Holloway, 79 of Eatonton passed away on April 7, 2025. He was born in Eatonton on January 11, 1946 to the late Jubral Ward Holloway Sr. and Minnie Greer Holloway. He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Anne Holloway and Mary Elllen Bowen. He had a love of hunting and fishing that usually involved going with his brothers and friends or taking his grandchildren down to the pond. He enjoyed cooking, especially a big brunswick stew that he would invite family, friends and neighbors to enjoy. He was known for his love of a good story and lots of contagious laughter. Jimmy had a love of music especially a good hymn or some bluegrass gospel. Jimmy was a long time Christian and would share his love of Jesus with anyone that would listen. During his time in the nursing home, those who knew this would come to him for prayer or a word of encouragement.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday April 12, 2025 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 10 am the Memorial service will follow at 11 am.
James is survived by his daughters Dapheny Hilley (Darren), Tiphanie Ford (Keith), grandchildren Ashley Dietzel (Jeff), James Ford, 4 great grandsons Cooper, Brody, Hudson and Finn Dietzel, brothers Jubral, Bennie and Johnny (Michele) Holloway, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
