Obituary for James Doster Whitten
James Whitten 81 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015. James was born on July 7, 1933 in Newborn, Georgia to the late Alfred Overton Whitten and Marie Doster Whitten. James was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Campbell. The visitation will be on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 1 PM, a graveside service will follow at Providence Cemetery in Shady Dale at 3 PM He is survived by his wife Sandra Grossman Whitten of Florida, children Michael Overton of Florida, Raymond Brown of North Carolina, Elaine Onesto & husband Tomas of Calhoun, Wayne Whitten, grandchildren Breanna, Raylynn, Adreahna, Chris Brown, Bruce Whitten, Ashley Dias, Marilyn, Cayetana, Alejandro Onesto, Jamie Campbell, eleven great grandchildren, aunt May Beth Thurmond of Monticello, cousins Stephen Thurmond of Monticello, Bobby Cochran of Columbus, Gaydell Eisenman of Bishop, Blade Thurmond and Harley Silvers.
