Obituary for James Arthur Linch
James Arthur Linch, 73,joined his Heavenly Father on November 9, 2020. After a six month battle with cancer, he passed peacefully at home with his family. A graveside viewing will take place at 11AM on Saturday, November14 at Pine Grove Cemetery followed by a noon ceremony. All CDC guidelines and social distancing will be in place including the wearing of masks. Following High School,Arthur went on to earn an Agricultural Engineering Degree as a graduate of ABAC. After serving in the Army National Guard, Arthur followed his father’s foot steps and joined the Eatonton Fire Department in 1969, serving the community for 33 years,retiring in 2002 as Chief. For 49 years he was a trusted, honest and sought after mechanic, operating Linch’s Garage, which he acquired from his father. Arthur, an avid sports man enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and yard work. He was a devoted Christian, as well as a beloved and faithful husband,an attentive and selfless father, grandfather and uncle whose joy was spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Thelma Linch; and his sister, Ann Fuller.He is survived by his wife, Regina, of 42 years; , Alison Adamson, Daniel(Carly) Linch, Meredith (Joel)Reyes; two grandchildren, Abby Kate and Jeremiah; a sister in law, Elaine Hicks; a niece and three nephews.The family wishes to thank everyone at Peaceful Purpose of Georgia for taking exceptional care of him during his illness at home until his passing and faithful caregivers, Ms.Mary and Ms. Joanne.
