Obituary for Henry Aloysius Karwisch
Henry A. Karwisch, age 89 of Peachtree Corners, Ga passed away on July 5th, 2021. He was born on April 21st, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Bernard and Angelina (Fischer) Karwisch. He attended Elder High School for two years and transferred to St. Meinrad’s Seminary where he graduated in 1950. He enlisted in the Army and was sent to the Korean War. He received three Bronze stars for his heroic service in combat. He married Catherine L. Powers on May 1st. 1954. She preceded him in death in 2000. Henry is survived by his siblings; Marge, Bernard, Paul (deceased). Joan and Arlene. He had three children Jeffrey (deceased), Victoria, and Mark. Henry remarried in 2001 to Freeda Russell at Christ Our King and Savior Church. Freeda’s children are David, Jeff and Pam. Henry had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Henry and Catherine fostered 63 children in their homes over the years. Henry was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. A Catholic Mass will be held Saturday, July 10th at 10 am.
Christ Our King and Savior Catholic church is located at 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Ga 30642.
He will be interred at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eatonton, Ga.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project, Knights of Columbus, Christ Our King ad Savior Council or Saint Vincent DePaul Society.
