Obituary for H P McMichael
H. P. McMichael 88 of Eatonton passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Mr. McMichael was born in Monticello on April 24, 1925 to the late Hope and Annie Mae Layson McMichael. The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church from 1 to 2 PM. Services will follow at 2 PM. The burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. He was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and a member of Rising Star #4 Masonic Lodge for 55 Years. He had a passion for farming, cutting grass, and attending church every Sunday. Mr. H. P. married the love of his life, Doris Dennis on January 25, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son William Phillip McMichael, Sisters Gladys Shelton and Margaret Jones, and a brother Harold McMichael. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Doris McMichael, sons Charles Clayborn McMichael (Cheryle), Allen Carlton McMichael (Mary Sue), Daughter-in-law Bonnie McMichael, grandaughters Jan McMichael Mullis (Jeff), Hope McMichael Pendergrass (Derrick), grandson Todd McMichael (Caroline) and 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Philadelphia United Methodist Church.
