Obituary for George W. Cannon II
Mr. George Wesley Cannon, II of Morven, Ga passed away Sunday night August, 04, 2013 in Gentiva Hospice inside of Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, Ga after a short illness. Mr. Cannon was born September 22, 1949 to the late Ellis H. Cannon and Laura Lee Rentz Cannon of Pavo, Ga. He lived in the Pavo / Thomasville area until his early 20\'s and ventured off to Ft. Pierce, Fl., where he lived close to 30 years. Mr. Cannon and his wife meet and married in Florida, moving back to their home state of Georgia in 2005. He was retired but helped his wife at JEM\'s Unique Boutique, LLC in Quitman, Ga. and was known as \"The AVON Man\" because he passed out AVON books to local businesses. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Edna L. Cannon of Morven, Ga. Two daughters: Kathy Cannon Burnette (husband Eric) of Barwick, Ga. and Nikki Cannon of Ft. Pierce, Fl. Three sons: George W. Cannon, III of Morven, Ga, Paul I. Cannon, Sr.(Julie) of Thomasville, Ga. and Wayne Wilkes, Jr.(wife Dee) of Pavo, Ga. Two sisters: LaVerne Cannon Benton of Thomasville, Ga. and Dorothy Cannon Peters of LaGrange, Ga. Five grandchildren: Angel Cannon, Sandy Cannon, Hailey Cannon, Montana Wilkes and Paul I. Cannon, Jr.(PJ). Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great newphews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellis and Laura Lee Cannon, three brothers: Lesley Cannon, Baby Grady Cannon and Charles Cannon, one daughter: Lisa Marie Cannon, and one granddaughter: Savannah June Wilkes. Funeral services will be held at Barney First Baptist Church in Barney, Ga. with the Rev. Keith Wise officiating at 2 pm on Saturday August 17th, 2013. Meal to follow after the service. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel of Eatonton, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
