Obituary for Frances Carnes Alliston
Mrs. Frances Carnes Alliston, wife of Robert (Bud) Alliston, Sr., passed away December 28th peacefully at her home in Eatonton after a long illness. Born February 7, 1939, she was the daughter of Nathaniel Carnes and Eunie Bell Seymour Carnes of Putnam County. Mrs. Alliston attended Putnam County High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eatonton. She met Bud Alliston from Buckhead, Ga. while he was serving his stateside term with the US Army and thought he was the handsomest man she had ever met and knew he would soon be her husband. They were married on July 26, 1957, sharing 64 wonderful years together. They raised 2 sons, Bob, (Robert Jr.) and Lynn. Frances loved God and her family. She would tell you they were the most important part of her life. She worked at several local businesses over the years but the one she enjoyed the most was being a teller at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Eatonton. She loved serving the bank customers and enjoyed their friendly conversations. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Alliston, Sr., sons Bob (Dottie) of Buckhead, Ga., Lynn (Tammie) of Eatonton, granddaughter Mandy (Chanin) Gill of Madison, Ga., grandson Tyler Alliston of Eatonton, great granddaughter Addy Alliston of Eatonton, and great grandson Gage Gill of Madison, Ga. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Geraldine Hall Duffey, brothers James Carnes, Bill Hall, and Bobby Carnes. Friends will be received at the home of Mr. Robert (Bud) Alliston. Visitation will be Friday, December 31st at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 10-11 a.m. and graveside service will follow at 11:30 at Eatonton Memorial Park, Rev. Ford G’Segner officiating. Flowers are welcomed or a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
