Obituary for Floyd Washington Bramlett
Floyd Washington Bramlett 88 of Eatonton passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Mr. Bramlett was born on June 8, 1925 in Tucker, Ga. to the late George Washington Bramlett and the late Lois Maddox Bramlett. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Bramlett Story, and brother-in-law ER Story. He moved to Putnam County from Stone Mountain in 1987, was a member of the Eatonton Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, he worked for Habitat for Humanity in Eatonton and was a member of the Home Builders Association, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, and retired from being a builder. Floyd served in the United States Marines during World War II from 1944 to 1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for combat at Iwo Jima. Visitation will be on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 5 to 7 PM. Service will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Eatonton Presbyterian Church at 11 AM. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia on January 21, 2014 at 3 PM. Pallbearers are: Stanley, Jeremy, Jonas Bowman, Wes, Matt Payton and Joe Meadows. Mr. Bramlett is survived by his wife of 66 years Loraine Ragan Bramlett, daughters Linda Bowman (David) of Tucker, Judy Payton (Wayne) of Loganville and Jennifer Bramlett of North Carolina, a brother George Bramlett Jr. of Tucker, Mr. Bramlet was a loving Papa to 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren: Stanley (Kristine) Bowman, Jeremy (Missy) Bowman, Karri (Joe) Meadows, Wesley (Rebecca) Payton, Matthew Payton, great grandchildren: Taylor, Lake, Jonas, Avry Bowman, Jared Williams, Wyatt Payton, CJ Meadows, Baby Boy Payton.
