Obituary for Eva Juanita Wallace

Eva Juanita (Jeffers) Wallace (88) of Eatonton, GA passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. Juanita was born on August 11, 1936 in Sylvania, GA to the late Samuel Jeffers and Willie Mae White. She married Marvin H. Wallace on November 28, 1953. They were married 67 years until his death.

Juanita was a cashier at the Colonial Store, manager at Atlanta Newspaper, secretary at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church and a bus driver for Putnam County Schools.

MawMaw was proud of the many accomplishments of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always in the crowd cheering them on any chance she got. She loved spending time with her family, near and far. Everyone loved MawMaw’s famous pound cake, and enjoyed everything that came out of her kitchen, including her turnip greens and cracklin cornbread.

Juanita loved to travel with her sweetheart, Marvin and many other family members, whether it was going to Florida to watch the Braves spring training, flying to California to check out the mighty redwoods, or a bus tour to Niagara Falls. Juanita especially loved relaxing while soaking up the views in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Juanita loved her church, Marshall Memorial Baptist, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served as clerk, secretary, treasurer and VBS director and did anything else needed to make sure everything ran smoothly. Like her sweetheart, Marvin, she loved the Lord and her family. She lived her life in service to her Lord, her husband, her family, her church and her community.

Juanita is survived by her two sons, Danny Wallace and David (Jannis) Wallace, her grandchildren, Cindy (James) Easter, Rebecca Price, Jessica (Matt) Schnetzer, Ansley Wallace, and Weston Wallace. Her great-grandchildren, Emma Price (Collin) Wright, Ella Price, Lucy Easter, Kris Easter, John Devin Schnetzer and Landon Schnetzer. Her great-great-grandson, Samuel (Sammy) Wright, along with many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her siblings, Ralph (Nita) Jeffers, DeWayne (Katherine) Jeffers, Charlotte Bacon, and Tommy (Martina) Cauthen. She also will be missed by her large extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and JW Roberts, her grandson, Danny Wallace Jr, daughter-in-law, Lucy Wallace, brother Lenton Jeffers, and brother-in-law Frank Bacon.

Pallbearers will be Weston Wallace, Chan Flanders, Scott Jeffers, and DeWayne Thomas.

A visitation will be held at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 2:00–3:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm. The graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.

Memorial donations may be made in Juanita’s name to Marshall Memorial Baptist Church, 190 Imperial Mill Road Eatonton, Georgia 31024.
