Obituary for Emmie Ruth Charping
Mrs. Emmie Harper Charping went to be with the Lord on, Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She died at her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Charping, her parents George Irvin Harper and Annie Roberta (Haley) Harper. Four sisters Lucy Massey, Mary Poole, Willie Maude Carnes and Bernice Bryant. Two brothers Clark Harper and Clarence Harper. She is survived by two children, Linda Charping Radney (Ed) of Eatonton and Stan Charping (Saranna) of Milledgeville. One brother Horace Harper of Eatonton. Six grandchildren Bart Maddox (Julie), Alex Maddox (Tiffany), Jennifer Maddox Collis(Tim) and John Maddox Sr. (Kasey) all of Eatonton, Ashley Charping and Chad Charping of Milledgeville. Ten great grandchildren, Nellie and Mattie Maddox, Megan Andrews, Khloe and Dallie Maddox, Preston Collis, Brandy Collis Larimore, John Maddox Jr., Ashby Maddox, Parker Eldrige all of Eatonton. Five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also had an extended family,Tina Radney Brooks, Renee Radney and their children Mathew and Chandler Brooks, Carley and Chloe Radney. Mrs. Charping was a native of Eatonton. She worked at Imperial Mills for 19 years until the Mill closed. Afterwards she was trained and worked at Putnam General Hospital, in central sterilizing and the operating room then later was Patient Representative and Out Patient Coordinator until she retired after 20 plus years. Mrs. Charping’s (Emmie to most) great love were her children, family and many friends. Family and friends shared countless days of love, laughter and her spontaneous wit. These will be special memories for us all. When God decided to end her pain and suffering of her cancer, He took her home on her husband’s birthday and it gives us peace and comfort to know what a mighty celebration there was in heaven that day. They were married 61 years. Pallbearers Gene Harper, Bart Maddox, Alex Maddox, John Maddox Sr., Chad Charping, Preston Collis, Honorary Pallbearers Bill Harper, Ralph Harper, Raymond Harper, Sonny Poole, Mike Faulk, Billy Reid, Alan Reid, Joe Hudson, Harry Hudson, Roy Embry and Gary Murphy. Special thanks and appreciation to: Pastor Mike Willard and Bible Fellowship Church, Dr. Rakesh Kumar and staff, Mike Faulk and staff at Shoppers Pharmacy, Dr,. Eddie Richardson (Hospice Doctor), Harmony Hospice and staff, Teresa Hunter and Gay Lankford (hospice nurses), Brenda Pinkerton, her care taker for four years and Sonya Knowles who also filled in as care taker, and Vining Ivy Hill Chapel and staff.
