Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Nuckolls
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Philips Nuckolls born on July 22, 1930 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home in Eatonton, Georgia on October, 19 2020. She was married to Dan Nuckolls for over 72 years and was loved by all. She was a gentle southern lady who believed in hard work, love and most of all, family. She was known for 45 years as the matriarch and co-owner of Cycle World of Athens and later as the “princess of Hoot Owl Lane” in her neighborhood. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Walker Methodist Church Cemetery, Greensboro at 2 PM. She was a faithful Christian. She enjoyed watching the Braves play baseball, working in her yard, enjoying the lake, traveling and spending time with her family. Betty and her husband Dan traveled the world together and were always up for an adventure. She is survived by her groom of 72 years, Dan, along with her two sons, Phil (daughter-in-law Janna) and Jim (daughter-in-law Ann), her brother Gene (Connie) and her sister Bobbye. She had 6 grandchildren and many great-grandkids along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Everyone that knew her considered her a loving, kind, and beautiful woman. She will be dearly missed.
