Obituary for Dollie Batchelor Harper

Dollie Batchelor Harper 74, of Eatonton passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Dollie was born in Eatonton on June 1, 1951 to the late Jack and Fay Batchelor. Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Benjamin Harper and brothers JR Davis, Blake Batchelor and John Batchelor.


Dollie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked at the Putnam County Tag Office for years where her personality touched everyone who came through the door. Dollie was very competitive and enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and throwing horseshoes. She enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and watching the grandkids play football, baseball, and soccer.


A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 11 AM.


She is survived by her son David Harper (Jennifer), daughter Kelly Dowdy (Scott), sisters Carolyn Dex, Evelyn White, Linda Elkins, Charlotte Brown (Mike), brothers Pete Batchelor (Doodle), Danny Batchelor, grandchildren Will Harper (Reba), Jack Harper, Harrison Dowdy, Meredith Dowdy, great grandchildren Maggie Harper, Shelby Harper.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to Alzheimer's Association (P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090) in Dollie’s memory.
