Obituary for Dennis Alvin Collis JR
Dennis Alvin Collis Jr., 76, of Eatonton went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2020. He was born on December 4, 1943 in Eatonton, Georgia to the late Alvin and Pauline Collis. He was preceded in death by his brother Lucious Taylor Collis “Tink”, and his sister Wynelle Collis Hanson. Dennis was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 728 and worked 18 years in the entertainment industry before retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing and watching football in his spare time.
He is survived by the love of his life, Martha Howell Collis of 55 years, his daughters Renee Collis Rowell (Ronny), Julie Collis Maddox (Bart); his grandchildren Ashley Manley, Field Manley, John Manley, Nellie Maddox, and Mattie Maddox; his brother Jack Collis and his sister Gail C. Ashworth (Jerry), and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 27 from 6:00-8:00pm at Vining Ivy Chapel Funeral Home in Eatonton, Georgia. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28 at 2:00pm at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Eatonton, Georgia.
