Obituary for Deborah Ann Gallagher
Ms. Deborah Ann Lawrence Gallagher, 51 of Godfrey, died October 15, 2020. She was surrounded at home by family and friends after a year-long battle with cancer. Debi was born April 17, 1969 in Morgan County. She was a graduate of Gatewood Schools and furthered her education with an Associate degree in Applied Science. Debi was employed by Piedmont Athens Regional for 28 years as an RN and truly enjoyed caring for her patients through the years. She also enjoyed seeing residents at the Madison House and Oconee House Assisted Living facilities. Debi devoted her life to her children and homeschooled all four of them. She enjoyed volunteering her time to help others and spent several years as a volunteer firefighter in Morgan County. More recently she volunteered her time with St. Vincent de Paul to help those in need. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Debi was a lover of the beach and enjoyed spending time outdoors with her friends and family. Debi is survived by her children Rachel Gallagher Rantz (Joey,) Noah Gallagher, Sarah Gallagher, and Levi Gallagher. She is survived by her parents, Tommy and Judy Lawrence. She is also survived by her sisters Paula Pincus (Danny) and Cathy Strange. Debi is survived by her four grandchildren Beren, Ronan, Lochlan, and Tristan Rantz and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 17 from 3-5pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. The funeral service will be graveside Sunday, October 18 at 2pm at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Godfrey.
