Obituary for David Phillip Hester
David Phillip Hester 66 of Putnam County, Passed away on November 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 27, 1950 to the late Jack Hester and Frances Henderson Hester. David was born and raised in Putnam County. He was a graduate of Putnam County High School, class of ’68. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor from Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, prior to that, he worked at Putnam Correctional Institute for many years. He was well known as the local locksmith a trade he learned from his late father. David was a member of The Rising Star #4 Masonic Lodge. He attended Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee and Crossroads Baptist Church. The visitation will be on November 7, 2016 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 6 -8 PM. The Funeral Service will be at Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM. He was preceded in death by his father Jack Hester. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Debbie Hester, his daughters, Damaris (Lynn) Callaway, Dana (Stuart) Butterworth, DeAnn (Travis) Walker, mother Frances Hester, sister Kathy (Ronnie) Booth, grandchildren Phillip Callaway, Kourtni (Dustin) Gandee, Gavin Hester, Owen Luke, Rusty Butterworth, Elizabeth Butterworth, Gage Snipes, Cole Snipes, Carson Walker, and Dalton Walker, and by four precious great-grandchildren Hannah Hester, Cash Callaway, Lainey Callaway, and Scarlett Gandee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and several cousins. The family would like memorial contributions made to Damascus Road Recovery in Covington Ga and to Promiseland Ministries in Elijay Ga, in Memory of David Hester.
