Darlene Mae Haddad Thompson 68, of Gray, Ga. formally of Springfield, MA. passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Emory University Hospital. Visitation will be on Monday, August 26, at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 9 AM to 11 AM, the Mass will follow at 11 AM officiated by Father G. Philip Ryan of Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church. Interment will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 11:30 AM. Darlene was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield and was a long time employee of Uni-Royal. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents James G. Haddad and Jessie M. Schladenhauffen Haddad both of Massachusetts. She is survived by her devoted husband Woodrow W. Thompson, children Lisa L. Thompson, James S. Thompson (Gina) all of Gray and William W. Thompson (Jennifer) of Camp Douglas, WI, Grandchildren Caitlin, Coleman, Caroline, Benjamin and Clara Thompson, also survived by her sister Naphie Haddad of West Springfield MA. The family requests that donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
