Obituary for Daniel Augustus Nuckolls

Daniel A. Nuckolls 93, of Eatonton passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Dan was married to his sweetheart Betty Philips Nuckolls for 72 years before her passing in October of 2020. Dan was known to many as a southern gentleman, savvy business man, wonderful father, grandfather and steward of his family farm in Eatonton, GA. He had a successful career, at Ford Motor Credit and Cycle World of Athens. In retirement he gave to his causes, Habitat for Humanity and Christian Outreach.


A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Walker Methodist Church Cemetery, Greensboro at 2 pm.


Dan was preceded in death by his oldest son Phil Nuckolls, they were always very close and they were business partners.


Dan is survived by his son Jim Nuckolls & wife Ann, daughter- in-law Janna Nuckolls, grandchildren Rich Morgan & wife Tracy, Kandi Wysong & husband Brian, April Nuckolls, Shelly Embrick & Jay, Jessica Nuckolls & husband Matt, Catherine Fields & husband Andrew, brother-in-law Gene Philips & wife Connie, sister-in-law Bobbye Spicer, 12 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


Family has requested in lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Oconee Regional Humane Society in Greensboro, Christian Outreach of Eatonton or Habitat for Humanity in his memory.
