Obituary for Dana Scherie Ralston Meeks
Dana Scherie Ralston Meeks, age 52, of Eatonton, Georgia, gained her wings on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, after suffering from Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer. She passed peacefully at home. Dana is the daughter of Gwen Cox and Thomas Howard Ralston of Eatonton. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Jean and Jack F. Cox of Augusta, Georgia and her paternal grandparents Estelle and W.C. Ralston of Eatonton, and her ex-husband George Andrew Meeks. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Andrew Thomas Meeks, her brothers: David Troy Ralston and wife Tonya Shepherd Ralston, and Kyle Thomas Ralston of Eatonton. Her nephew Jacob Tyler Ralston and niece Autumn Estelle Ralston. Her fiancé Cliff M. Hayman, and his daughter Calissa Marie Hayman. Maternal aunts and uncles: Jackie Cox and Chip White of Appling, Georgia, and Carol Cox and David Ritchey of Grovetown, Georgia. Paternal aunts and uncles: Belle Hewitt and Clate Ralston of Savannah, Georgia and Linda and Walker Ralston of Eatonton. And many cousins and friends. Dana was a 1987 graduate of Gatewood School, and a graduate of Dekalb College with a degree in Applied Technology. She worked in food service at several local restaurants including Andy’s Bar-B-Q, and The Frisk, as well as at NextGen, Inc. where she worked troubleshooting computer programs. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, at the First Baptist Church of Eatonton, 115 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:00 am, with a service to follow. There will be no graveside service. Internment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Eatonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Committee, P.O. Box 3400, Eatonton, Ga 31024. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
