Clyde Day “Dee” Hewitt, Jr. passed away at his residence on May 30, 2018. He was born in Eatonton, Ga. to the late Clyde Day Hewitt, Sr. and Addie Lenore Beall Hewitt. He was born and raised in Eatonton, lived in Savannah for 18yrs., then returned home to raise his children. Dee attended Putnam County Schools and graduated from UGA, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and the Bulldog Club. Dee worked most of his life as a salesman. Dee never met a stranger. He was known for his “gift of gab”, quick wit and deep love of family. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. The service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 5pm.in the Historic Sanctuary of The First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 yrs., Judy Tallone Hewitt of Eatonton, his children Troy (Katie) Hewitt of Ohio and Nicole Hewitt of Savannah, Ga., his granddaughter Ella Hewitt of Ohio, his sister Belle H. (Clate) Ralston of Savannah, Ga., as well as Roxy his loyal dog companion. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3129, Eatonton, Ga. 31024.
