Clara Mae Parr of Eatonton, passed away on Friday, April 22, at a Macon hospital. She was 78. She was born in Cochran, Georgia, the daughter of the late Isaac Edward Maddox and Leila Kitchens Maddox. She was the widow of Mr. Monroe Parr. Miss Clara was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and had made her home in Putnam County for many decades. She was the owner and bookkeeper of Parr Roofing. Visitation will be held at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00am. Mrs. Parr was preceded in death by her husband of more than forty years, Monroe Parr, and her son Jimmy Hobbs. She is survived by her son Jerry Hobbs and wife Pat of Eatonton, grandchildren Brandy Hobbs, Crystal Hobbs, Christopher Harrell, Lindi Humphries (Bill), great grandchild Hendrix Humphries, sisters Roberta Kight (George) of Cochran, Betty McElheney of Eatonton, brothers J. W. Maddox (Grace) of Cochran, Joe Maddox (Rita) of Jersey, and Herman Maddox of Eastman. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel has charge of arrangements.
