Cynthia L. “Cindy” Johnson passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Sunday, March 8th, 2020. Cindy was born October 8th, 1958 to the late Homer and Barbara Livingston of Warner Robins, Ga. She attended Georgia College in Milledgeville, and married Tom Johnson on February 12, 1983. She spent her life as a loving wife and mother who made home wherever the Army sent them. Always an artist and an entrepreneur, she adapted her art to every assignment, from Germany all the way to Hawaii. The sun and sand of Oahu were too tempting to leave; Hawaii was their last assignment, and Cindy gained a dedicated following for her art during their 17 years there. Like her mother Barbara, who passed away on March 4th, she had a lively personality and was never afraid of speaking her mind. We will remember her as the vibrant soul she was prior to her battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Colonel (retired) Thomas C Johnson of Madison, their children Tyler Charles Johnson of Atlanta and Carolyn Nicole Johnson of Smyrna and her brother, Michael Danny Livingston (Karen) of Warner Robins.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 16th at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel in Eatonton,
followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 2:00 pm. Afterwards, Cindy will be laid to rest at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Putnam County. There will be a reception at Union Chapel following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Union Chapel United Methodist Church of Eatonton, GA, care of Barbara Turk, 374 S. Steel Bridge Rd, Eatonton, GA 31024.
