Obituary for Charles F. Gregory
Charlie Frank Gregory, age 86, passed away on February 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at First United Methodist Church of Eatonton, on Sunday, February 14, 210, with Rev. Peggy Little and Rev. Mike Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Eatonton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 4pm to 6pm at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. Mr. Gregory was born in Putnam County to the late Thomas and Mamie Gregory. He was a graduate of Eatonton High School and attended Reinhardt College, then entered the Air Force on January 25, 1943. He flew a total of 32 missions over France, Germany and Poland. Charles was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982 after 35 years of service, also a member of First United Methodist Church of Eatonton, Robinson Dance Sunday School class and the Georgia Power Ambassadors. He is survived by his wife, Helen Gregory and his daughters, Cindy (Wesley) Willis of Eatonton and Susan (Mark) Gordy of Milledgeville. Mr. Gregory has two granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth Harper of Milledgeville and Rachel Nicole Willis of Eatonton. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tom, Ed, and Marian and his sisters Mary Clark Hudson and Lois Phillips.
