Obituary for Charles Deraney
Charlie Deraney, 55, of Eatonton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
He was born in Eatonton on September 18, 1958 to the late Edward C. Deraney and Eileen Flayhan Deraney. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Janice Alford Deraney, and his sister Charlotte Deraney Newman.
Charlie was a 1977 graduate of Gatewood School, enjoyed car racing, football and bike riding. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children. You could always count on Charlie to put a smile on your face, no matter what was going on in your life.
The visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on Tuesday, June 17th from 6 to 8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro, Ga., on Wednesday, June 18th at 11 AM, followed by burial at Eatonton Memorial Park.
Charlie is survived by his son Israel Deraney and daughter Ashley Deraney, both of Eatonton, sisters Katherine (Craig) Winters, Linda Deraney Stevens and brother James (Christine) Deraney.
